Power Fully Reinstated at Ukraine’s Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant
Svitlana Hrynchuk reported that electricity was restored to all critical sites, including the New Safe Confinement shelter that encases the destroyed reactor No. 4. She emphasized that radiation readings are stable and do not pose any danger to the public.
“Thanks to our energy workers for their lightning-fast and effective work! Your work is safety for all of Ukraine and Europe,” Hrynchuk said in an official statement.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ukraine’s Energy Ministry revealed that power outages caused by voltage surges affected the New Safe Confinement structure, which is vital for preventing radioactive leaks from the damaged reactor.
Russia has yet to respond to these allegations, and independent verification remains challenging amid the ongoing war.
