Ukraine Claims Strike Damaged Russian Helicopters
The agency asserted that the strike led to the destruction of several Russian helicopters and an air defense installation.
In a formal declaration, the SBU explained that the unmanned aerial vehicles were directed at zones that hosted Russian aviation divisions, defense infrastructure, arms storage sites, and drones.
The agency emphasized that the operation was aimed at locations containing essential Russian military assets.
The SBU specified that helicopters including the Mi-8, Mi-26, and Mi-28 models were eliminated, alongside a Pantsir-S1 missile and artillery complex.
“Secondary detonations continued throughout the night at the airfield,” the statement noted.
The SBU framed the attack as a component of its wider strategy to hinder Russian airborne capabilities.
“The enemy must understand that expensive military equipment and ammunition are not safe anywhere — not on the line of contact, not in Crimea, and not deep in the rear,” it further declared.
As of now, Russian officials have not provided any response to the SBU’s assertions.
